NJCAAE Announces Launch of Proprietary Competitive and Recruiting Platform
New Technology Provides Long-Term Stability for Members and Creates Transfer Opportunities for Two-Year College Students
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The National Junior College Athletic Association Esports (NJCAAE) today announced the launch of its own proprietary competitive and recruiting platform, a major milestone that strengthens the organization's independence while creating new opportunities for students at member institutions nationwide.
Founded in 2019, the NJCAAE has utilized four different third-party platforms to support league operations and competition. While those platforms helped facilitate growth, each transition required member institutions to learn new systems, adapt to new processes, and navigate changes outside of the NJCAAE's control.
The new platform eliminates that uncertainty.
"This is the last platform change our members will ever have to worry about," said Jeff White, Executive Director of the NJCAAE. "For years, I've viewed platform dependence as one of the greatest strategic risks facing our organization. By owning and operating our own platform, we control our future, our roadmap, and the experience we provide our members."
The platform gives the NJCAAE complete control over feature development, pricing, and operations, eliminating concerns about unexpected price increases, discontinued services, unwanted feature changes, or vendor instability. The organization can now respond directly to member feedback and develop solutions specifically designed for the needs of two-year colleges.
In addition to supporting competition, the platform includes a recruiting solution that the NJCAAE believes is the first and only platform designed specifically for two-year college students and graduates.
Unlike traditional recruiting tools, the NJCAAE Recruiting Platform is available to all students at NJCAA and NJCAAE member institutions—not just traditional sports and esports competitors. Students can create profiles highlighting their academic achievements, leadership experience, extracurricular involvement, and other accomplishments, while four-year colleges and universities can identify and connect directly with prospective transfer students.
"We wanted to build something that creates real opportunities for students," White said. "It is easy to get overlooked by traditional recruiting systems. Our platform creates a direct connection between two-year college students and four-year institutions actively seeking talented transfer students."
The launch also positions the NJCAAE to provide platform and league operations services to other organizations seeking reliable competition management solutions.
"This platform is about more than technology," Matt King, Senior Director of Operations for the NJCAAE added. "It's about independence, stability, and creating opportunities for students. Most importantly, it ensures that the future of the NJCAAE remains firmly in the hands of the community it serves."
