REGIONS EXPLAINED

Regions Explained

How Regions Work:

All NJCAAE Members are preassigned a Region designation based on the institution's location.

  • When a Region does have enough competitors for a specific Game Title to form a full competitive season, the NJCAAE National Office may combine Regions to form Districts.

Current Year Plans:

Members are preassigned to Districts based on their Region assignment and local Time zone.

  • All members within a Region that is primarily in Eastern Time will be housed in the East District.

  • All members within a Region that is Central Time to Pacific Daylight Time will participate in the Western District.

  • Competitors will be matched in groups by their assigned Region within each District, known as Super Regions.

  • In an effort to keep the Districts balanced, the NJCAAE National Office will move competitors from one district to another so that the districts have a similar number of competitors within them. Competitors may fill out this form to show their interest in being moved to a specific region for rebalancing.

District Adjustment Process:

Once final registration numbers are in for each game title, NJCAAE National Office begins balancing District competitor numbers for each game title.

  1. NJCAAE National Office will identify what game titles have transfer spots open based off of registrations.

  2. NJCAAE will use teams who opt in through the Premier Series (PS) District Adjustment Opt-in Form as a database of teams to move from one District to another.

  3. Teams who Opt-in through the NJCAAE Tier 1 - Premier Series (PS) District Adjustment Opt-in Form are drawn at random to fill each open spot until all open transfer spots are filled or no teams remain.

  4. Once no teams from the  Tier 1 - Premier Series (PS) District Adjustment Opt-in Form remain, the NJCAAE National Office will pull teams according to their region assignment to fill and remaining transfer spots.

Completion of this form does not guarantee any team or member will be moved to their desired competition district within the  Tier 1 - Premier Series (PS).
